Our 2023 whale watching season is set to begin this week with the arrival of majestic gray whales on their migration journey from the southern waters north to Alaska. In March and April they pass through the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Puget Sound. A handful of gray whales have been confirmed in Puget Sound already including CRC 22 (Earhart), CRC 53 (Little Patch), and CRC 2440, with more arriving. Last year the bulk of the gray whale “Sounders” showed up a little earlier than normal.
Our 10:30 am Edmonds departures start on March 3, and 10:00 am Port Townsend departures start on March 11. March and April are the best months to see gray whales here in Puget Sound! Reserve your Gray Whale whale watching tour today.
