November 2017  has really seemed to be the best month so far this year to see our endangered Southern Resident orcas.

They’ve been in feasting on chum salmon in the Salish Sea – around San Juan Island, near Canada, and even in Puget Sound. The chum run has been stronger this year than the chinook run.  We are grateful and really hope they are finding enough to eat!

This is a clip of of some Kpod members with some Js from November 17, 2017. Be sure to listen with sound turned up for the full experience. We could see whales for miles, all spread out in what appeared to be foraging mode, but then we encountered several members of K and Jpod in a tight knit, playful group.
