Transient Orca Encounter in Seattle’s Elliott Bay

Transient killer whales the T36B’s with T36, T99’s and T049C were in Elliot Bay in June 27, 2016 and we arrived just in time to see these powerful marine mammal hunters in action!

They made a kill on a California sea lion right before our eyes. He tried to seek refuge under the Chilkat Express but they came alongside and grabbed him. Can you say National Geographic moment?!

Being able to witness this hunt was amazing – a sad day for the sea lion, but such is the circle of life.
