Things to Know

Heading Out

If traveling on a Schooner Martha cruise, visit their tour information page.

If traveling on our April Audubon cruise, view their Welcome and Itinerary.
Note that the April 6-8 tour departs FROM SEQUIM.

-Otherwise, here’s what you need to know about traveling with Puget Sound Express!

While our tour boats have indoor seating and the cabins are heated, you will want to bring several important items to make your experience comfortable. When whale watching, you will be inside and outside so we recommend that you bring sensible non-slip shoes, a sweater, windbreaker, hat, gloves, sunglasses, and hopefully suntan lotion.

The cabins inside are heated. When you venture outside on deck – even in summerit can be cool; layering your clothing is a good idea. (Sherri likes to bring gloves and a hat too!) Cameras and binoculars are also a  good idea. Phone cameras are fine – but cameras that zoom are even better.

Day of Departure

Please check in to our office 30 minutes prior to departure.

Parking

Our free parking lot is 2.5 blocks north of our office. As you approach our office on Jackson Street, passengers may wish to get out at the office and check in while the driver parks the vehicle.

To reach the parking lot, proceed past office on Jackson Street to STOP sign. GO STRAIGHT across road and go 1.5 blocks UNTIL YOU REACH PAVEMENT AGAIN. Look for the Puget Sound Express parking sign on your right.

Restrooms

While there is a small bathroom on our boat, we encourage you to take care of any restroom needs prior to departure. Public restrooms are located at the Northwest Maritime Center on Water Street. From the PSE office, walk over to the large yellow building to the entrance BETWEEN the yellow building on the street, and the glass-enclosed kayak storage on the water side.

On Board

Once on board, a crew member will show you to your seat. If you are traveling with luggage or would like to stow your day bag, kayak, or bicycle, ask the crew for assistance. One of the favorite specialty items we sell on board is our famous coffee cake – Sherri’s Blueberry Buckle. Each day this is baked on board, and served warm soon after departure. So be ready to enjoy a large slice of this wonderful delight fresh from the oven.

Stand-By

On the departure day a stand-by list is maintained by Puget Sound Express, in case we have no-shows. If you wish to arrive without a reservation, simply inform the reservation desk that you wish to be placed on the stand-by list. If there is space available, your name will be called just prior to departure and you’re off!
