Whale watching, bird watching, sunset cruises, and waterfront cruises across Port Townsend are just a few of the many activities we offer.</p> <p class="justify">Groups can either book a portion of our regularly scheduled trips and receive discounts based on the number of passengers in the group. These groups are called 'partial group charters.' Groups can also book the entire vessel allowing for a more diverse trip. <a href="pg_scanning_with_binoculars2.html" onmouseover="window.status='Click to see a larger photo'; return true" onmouseout="window.status = ''; return true"><img src="images/scanning_with_binoculars2_260.jpg" width="176" height="276" alt="Guests on the deck of the Glacier Spirit at sunset" hspace="5" border="0" align="right" /></a> These trips are based on vessel time and are called 'full boat charters.' Groups that book a 'full boat charter,' have the option of planning the trip from start to finish; including the departure time, where you want to go, and what you want to eat. When booking a full boat charter be sure and ask for our special event coordinator, Sherri!</p> <p class="justify"><a name="educationtrips" id="educationtrips"></a> <strong>Sunset Dinner Tour</strong><br /> Following is just as example of what a custom tour can be like with P.S. Express. Imagine a salmon dinner at Protection Island while the sun is setting over the Olympic Mountains. During this trip we anchor the boat in a small bay, turn the engines off, listen to the wildlife, and just enjoy the solitude. For over twenty years we have taken groups such as; businesses on retreat, wedding parties, Audubon clubs, church groups, etc., and all have come away with great memories of their experience at Protection Island. As an example, this trip priced out at three hours for the tour boat and 40 passengers for dinner would cost $1050.00 for the vessel time and $1,000 for the dinner, ($25.00 per passenger) which typically is a Salmon entrée with; potatoes, Caesar salad and desert included. Total price would be $2,050, or $51.25/passenger.</p> <p class="justify"><a name="educationtrips" id="educationtrips"></a> <strong>Education Trips</strong><br /> P. S. Express offers several different programs for education related trips. To qualify for an education discount rate, which can be as much as 50%, your group must be affiliated with a public or private school and your trip must occur in any month other than July and August. Like the regular Port Townsend or Friday Harobr tours, these education trips can originate in either city. A great example of a 'full boat charter/education trip,' was last summer. We took a group of kids, who were on a biology field trip, to an island which is a state park; studied plants and animals, at lunch and then let them have the run of the whole island.
